Abstract
The Copernicus POD (Precise Orbit Determination) Service operationally generates GNSS-based orbit products for the Sentinel-1, -2, -3, and -6 missions providing them to the corresponding Copernicus Sentinel Ground Segments and related user communities. DORIS observations available for Sentinel-3 and Sentinel-6 are not used for the generation of the operational POD products. Nevertheless, the Copernicus POD (CPOD) Service has the capability to process DORIS observations and generate DORIS-only or GNSS & DORIS combined orbits.
We present DORIS-based orbit determination results of both Sentinel-3 satellites and the newly included Sentinel-6A satellite. Cross-comparisons to GNSS-based CPOD and several other orbit solutions delivered from members of the Copernicus POD Quality Working Group for the quarterly Regular Service Reviews and Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) measurements are used for validation.
