The Governing Board consists of eleven voting members and a number of nonvoting members. The voting membership of the GB is composed of 5 members elected by the IDS Associates, and 6 appointed members. The elected members have staggered four-year terms, with elections every two years. The Analysis Centers’ representative, the Data Centers’ representative, and one Member-at-Large are elected during the first two-year election. The Analysis Coordinator and the other Member-at-Large are elected in the second two-year election. Chairs of the Working Groups are ex-officio and nonvoting members.
Election 2024
In accordance with the Terms of Reference of the IDS, three positions in the IDS Governing Board will become vacant at the end of 2024.
- the seat of Analysis Centers' representative, occupied by Frank Lemoine (NASA/GSFC, USA),
- the seat of Data Centers' representative, occupied by Patrick Michael (NASA/GSFC, USA) (substitute Taylor Yates),
- one seat of at-large member, presently occupied by Karine Le Bail (Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden).
Elections will be held in December 2024 to elect members for these seats for a 4-year term (2025-2028).
IDS associates are invited to nominate candidates for the three positions until December 6, 2024.
A Nominating Committee (Frank Lemoine (chair), Karine Le Bail, Laura Sanchez) is formed to collect the nominations and established the list of candidates.
