****************************************************************************** dorisreport 30-Jan-2006 18:42:18 Message No 0492 ****************************************************************************** Author: Pascal Willis Subject: Problem in recent DORIS IGN-JPL solutions (weeks 05191 - 05352) Dear colleagues, while preparing ITRF2005, Zuheir Altamimi pointed out a problem in recent DORIS IGN/JPL submission (ignwd05). Many thanks to him! We verified and found out that our most recent free-network solutions were not properly transformed into SINEX, creating some inconsistencies between the DORIS-derived station positions and EOPs. Fortunately, all these other IGN/JPL products (ignwd04, geocenter, EOP, STCD,..) were not affected because they were created using our original files and not these corrupted SINEX results. This problem is now fully understood and hopefully corrected. We are currently doing additional tests directly with Zuheir to verify that the new ignwd05 SINEX files are suitable for ITRF2005. We should be able to resubmit those files within a few days. In order to minimize email messages, we will not reissue any DORISReport for these weekly resubmissions (the summary file is exactly the same!). Files will be directly transferred to CDDIS. Only 1 future DORISReport will be issued when all corrected files will be available at the CDDIS data center Sorry for the inconveniences Pascal NB: This problem affects all free-network solutions submitted after August 2005 (weeks 05191 and all the following weeks until week 05352 = GPS weeks 1331 to 1354). -- Pascal Willis Jet Propulsion Laboratory, MS 238-646 Ph : 1-818-393-4748 4800 Oak Grove Drive FAX: 1-818-393-4965 Pasadena CA 91109 Em : Pascal.R.Willis@jpl.nasa.gov Please do not reply directly to this message, but send comments and suggestions to IDS.central.bureau@cls.fr
