****************************************************************************** dorismail 18-Nov-2024 08:11:33 Message No 1413 ****************************************************************************** Author: Soudarin Laurent Subject: Announcement of Elections for Open Positions on the IDS Governing Dear colleagues, The terms for three seats within the IDS Governing Board will expire on December 31, 2024: -the seat of Analysis Centers' representative, occupied by Frank Lemoine (NASA/GSFC, USA), -the seat of Data Centers' representative, occupied by Patrick Michael (NASA/GSFC, USA) (substitute Taylor Yates), -one seat of at-large member, presently occupied by Karine Le Bail (Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden). A call for nominations will be sent very soon to invite IDS Associates to propose candidates for the three open positions for the next four-year term, January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2028. The current list of IDS Associates is listed at the following URL: https://ids-doris.org/ids/organization/associate-members.html The nominations of the IDS Associates will be collected until December 6, 2024 by the IDS Nominating Committee (ids.nc @ ids-doris.org) formed for the elections. Elections will be held in December 2024. The Governing Board meets at least annually, usually twice in conjunction with meetings of the Analysis Working Group and IDS Workshop. The principal role of the Governing Board is to set policy and to exercise broad oversight of all IDS functions and components. It also controls general activities of the Service, including restructuring, when appropriate, to maintain Service efficiency and reliability.
