The new working group was proposed to continue and broad the use of NRT DORIS data for ionospheric analysis, after the great success of previous working group – NRT DORIS Data – whose objectives have been successfully achieved. The general objective of this working group is a thorough assessment on requirements, benefits, applications and prospects of near-real-time DORIS data with improved data latency, mainly focus on monitoring and modeling the Earth’s ionosphere during this new term. Using DORIS in combination with other ground and space geodetic observation techniques (e.g., GNSS) help to improve the accuracy and reliability of ionospheric maps, especially in ocean regions with pour GNSS coverage. Additionally, NRT DORIS data are currently available from more than nine satellite missions, including Jason-3, Saral, Sentinel-3A, Sentinel-3B, Sentinel-6A, SWOT, Cryosat-2, HY-2C and HY-2D. NRT RINEX DORIS data are archived at ftp://doris.ign.fr/pub/doris/data/srl/NRT/ and DIODE orbits assessable from ftp://doris.ign.fr/pub/doris/products/orbits/ssa/ As such, you are highly welcome to join this IDS working group on NRT ionospheric applications if you are currently working on or interested in this topic. Please distribute this information within your research community and send me the E-mail (wangningbo@aoe.ac.cn) before 30 September if you are interested to join this NRT DORIS Ionospheric Application Working Group.
