****************************************************************************** dorismail 24-Jan-2018 10:39:40 Message No 1099 ****************************************************************************** Author: Capdeville Hugues Subject: First Announcement and Call for Papers, IDS Workshop 24-26 September Dear Colleagues: We remind you that on 24 to 26 September 2018, the IDS workshop 2018 will b= e held in Ponta Delgada (Azores Archipelago), Portugal, as part of the 25 Years of Progress in Radar Altimetry Symposium with the O= cean Surface Topography Science Team (OSTST) 2018. The abstract submission process for the 2 events is now open. To submit an abstract, please follow the link on the "Abstract submission s= ection": www.altimetry2018.org The deadline for submission of abstracts is 1 March 2018. Logistical details are available on the meeting website www.altimetry2018.= org The IDS workshop will highlight current developments and the status of scie= ntific results that use DORIS data, and will provide a platform for discuss= ion and coordination of future activities. IDS contributors are invited to submit a presentation (oral or poster) to t= he IDS workshop for presenting results in relation with topics such as: Network and constellation: status and evolution New DORIS missions (DGXX satellites), applications and products Precise orbit modeling and Precise Orbit Determination Use of DORIS in multi-technique solutions for the Terrestrial Referen= ce Frame. ITRF2014 assessments. Geophysics Applications. Applications in oceanography, atmospheric st= udies and geophysics We also welcome papers that describe the progress of the activities pertai= ning to the DORIS operational combination. POD modelling issues related to = radiation pressure, atmospheric drag, geocenter motion model, tropospheric = delay and mapping functions, and phase center corrections that affect the q= uality of the DORIS products and papers that review progress in these areas= will be especially welcome. We also welcome papers that synergistically us= e DORIS data in combination with other geodetic techniques, including multi= -technique combinations for the terrestrial reference frame. DORIS being a dual-frequency radio technique, provides a means to sound the= ionosphere, and we welcome papers that use or compare the DORIS measuremen= ts with models or to calibrate the performance of satellite radar altimeter= s or make other uses of these ionospheric data. The Scientific Committee will draw up a programme and an agenda at a later = stage, according to the submitted abstracts. ------------------------------------------------------- Scientific Committee: Chair: Jean-Michel Lemoine (CNES, France) Committee members: Hugues Capdeville (CLS, France) Frank Lemoine (NASA/GSFC, USA) Ernst Schrama (Tu-Delft, The Netherlands) Pascal Willis (IGN, France) Denise Dettmering (DGFI-TUM, Germany) Please contact the IDS Central Bureau if you have any questions: email: ids.central.bureau@ids-doris.org We look forward to seeing you all there! Following on from the "15 Years of Progress in Radar Altimetry" Sympos= ium in 2006 and the "20 Years of Progress in Radar Altimetry" Symposium in= 2012, in Venice-Lido, Italy, both deemed very successful landmarks by the = participants and the readership of the Proceedings, we are now at the twent= y-five year anniversary of the launch of ERS-1 and TOPEX/POSEIDON. To mark = this occasion the European Space Agency, in collaboration with the French = Space Agency, CNES, is organising an exceptional Symposium on "25 Years of= Progress in Radar Altimetry". This event will also be sponsored by other p= artner agencies and organisations supporting the development of altimetry. = Along with this symposium, several related events will take place on the sa= me week, including the annual meeting of the Ocean Surface Topography Scien= ce Team (OSTST) and the International Doris Service (IDS) workshop. These e= vents will be held over 6 days, from 24 to 29 of September 2018, in Ponta D= elgada, S=E3o Miguel Island, Azores Archipelago (Portugal). Please consider your participation at this exceptional event and reserv= e the week from 24 to 29 September 2018 in your agenda. For the Symposium, the abstracts submission opens today. You are kindl= y invited to submit your abstract(s) not later than 1 March 2018. Please link to http://www.altimetry2018.org to get familiar with the Th= emes & Objectives and the type of presentation to request (Oral Keynote, Or= al Review, Oral or Poster) and to submit your (max 500 words) abstract(s). Abstracts will be selected by the Scientific Committee on the basis of = their scientific content and relevance to the themes of the symposium. Auth= ors will be notified of the decision and the type of presentation (Oral Key= note, Oral Review, Oral or Poster) by 27 April 2018. For OSTST and IDS meetings, additional information and call for contrib= utions will be sent out separately. Looking forward to another great "slow-time" event like the 15 and 20 Y= ears of Progress in Radar Altimetry held in Venice in 2006 and 2012, an exceptional scientific Symposium on "25 Years of Progress in Radar = Altimetry"! Looking forward to your participation! J=E9r=F4me Benveniste and Pascal Bonnefond on behalf of the 25 Years of Progress in Radar Altimetry Symposium Orga= nising Committee
