Dear colleagues,
Jason-3 was successfully launched yesterday, Sunday 17 January at 18:42 UTC=
 from Vandenberg, California.

The satellite is now under control of teams at CNES's Toulouse Space Centre=
 in charge of powering up the bus and payload.
The DORIS instrument has been successfully switched ON today at 5:40 UTC. T=
he instrument behavior is fully nominal and has started to compute the on-o=
rbit solutions thanks to the DIODE software.

The final orbit, synchronized with Jason2,  is expected to be reached 15-20=
 days after launch.

After that, DORIS  data will be delivered to IDS Data Centers  (raw data in=
 RINEX format, S/C attitude and solar panel positions, orbits).


We'll let us know as soon as these data are available on IDS Data Centers a=
nd we will  keep keep you informed on the status of the mission.

There are now 5 flying DORIS satellites contributing to IDS :
Jason-2 , CryoSat-2 ,  HY-2A, SARAL , and Jason3,

New DORIS missions are scheduled with the following launches to come:

February  2016, 4th: Sentinel-3A.  The Sentinel-3 satellite fits into the C=
opernicus program, a joint project between Esa and European Union. It will =
be dedicated to Earth monitoring and operational oceanography with on board=
