It is the last of the CNES SPOT family. Then, as SPOT4, the satellite will be used to prepare the future with the mission "Take-5". This operation is carried out by CNES in cooperation with ESA. The satellite will be placed on a new orbit (2.5 km under the current one) to prepare image processing chains of the future mission Sentinel-2 (GMES project): the orbit Take-5 has been chosen to provide a 5 days repeat cycle, the exact repeatability of the two satellites Sentinel-2. In this context, one hundred sites will be systematically imaged in favor of scientific users for the preparation of the Sentinel-2 mission. The satellite should be placed in this orbit between 02 April and 08 April and will remain on this orbit during 5 months. The mission Take-5 will end in late August, then, after technical experiments, the satellite should be deorbited around mid- October, and The DORIS receiver will be turned off at this time. So, the DORIS data will be disseminated as usual to the IDS Data Centers (CDDIS/IGN) until October. We wish a great success to the mission SPOT5/Take-5 ! Pascale FERRAGE
