It is the penultimate in the SPOT family, its descendants ensured by PLEIADES. Before bowing out final in June, the satellite will be used to prepare the future with the new experimental mission "Take-5". It will be placed on a new orbit (2.5 km under the current one) to prepare image processing chains of the future mission Sentinel-2 (GMES project). In this context, 42 sites will be systematically imaged in favor of scientific users for the preparation of the Sentinel-2 mission (NASA, ESA, JRC, CLS, and about a hundred laboratories). The orbit Take-5 has been chosen to provide a 5 days repeat cycle, the exact repeatability of the two satellites Sentinel-2. The satellite should be placed in this orbit between 30 January and 01 February 2013 and will remain on this orbit about 4 months. Until the end of the Take-5 mission, The DORIS receiver remains ON and the DORIS data are disseminated as usual to the IDS Data Centers (CDDIS/IGN). The experiment ends in late May, then, SPOT-4 will be de-orbited in June and DORIS will be switched off. We wish a great success to the mission SPOT4/Take-5 !
