****************************************************************************** dorismail 15-Sep-2009 17:25:27 Message No 0619 ****************************************************************************** Author: "Ferrage Pascale" Subject: news about CryoSat-2 Dear colleagues, I inform you that a new target launch date of 28 February 2010 has been announced for Cryosat-2 (ESA) , Cryosat-2 (3.5 years as nominal lifetime), is an altimetry satellite built by the European Space Agency, the mission is to determine the variations in the thickness of the Earth's continental ice sheets and marine ice cover. Cryosat-2 has on board a DORIS DGXX Receiver and Laser Retroreflector Array as positioning systems. Cryosat-2 will be the next "DORIS mission" in flight, which will extend the current DORIS constellation (contributor to IDS) to 6 satellites (with Spot4, Jason1, Envisat, spot5, Jason2).
