****************************************************************************** dorismail 09-Jun-2009 16:41:16 Message No 0607 ****************************************************************************** Author: "Ferrage Pascale" Subject: SPOT-2 end of activity Dear colleagues The SPOT-2 commercial exploitation phase will end on June 30, 2009. Then, SPOT-2 will be de-orbited: maneuvers will be performed (from July 15th to July 29 th) in order to lower the orbit so that the spacecraft will re-enter the Earth's atmosphere within 25 years. So, from July 15th, the SPOT-2 DORIS files will not be delivered any more to the IDS Data Centers. Note that SPOT-2 was launched in 1990 with the first DORIS receiver for a 6-month trial experiment. DORIS has been functionning more than 18 years on-board SPOT-2, far beyond the instrument and spacecraft nominal lifetime.
