Fagard" Subject: Antenna raising at Monument Peak (California, USA) Dear Colleagues, The antenna of the DORIS station at Monument Peak, installed two years ago, has been raised in order to remove the N-type bent adapters at the base of the antenna, and to reduce the signal obstruction by the nearby fence. The new device that was used to support the antenna on top of the concrete pillar is a 45 cm high, high quality stainless steel structure. It was designed and made by IGN-France, and derived from the designs already used at Yaragadee (designed and made by Geoscience Australia) and Kerguelen. The transmissions from the former antenna location (MONB) stopped on December 12, and resumed on December 14 after the antenna raising. The acronym for the new reference point is MOOB. The DOMES number for the new antenna reference point is 40497S009. The vector from MONB to MOOB is exactly: dN = 0.003 m dE = -0.005 m dh = 0.403 m. Hence the ITRF2000, 1997.0 coordinates for MOOB, derived from those published for MONB in the DORISMail #0430: X= -2386251.010 m Y= -4802363.996 m Z= 3444894.637 m SigX = 0.002 m SigY = 0.003 m SigZ = 0.003 m The ITRF2000 velocities for this site are : VX = -0.0306 m/y VY = 0.0255 m/y VZ = 0.0145 m/y SigVX = 0.0002 m/y SigVY = 0.0003 m/y SigVZ = 0.0003 m/y Best regards, Herve Fagard -- ====================================================================== Herve FAGARD e-mail : herve.fagard@ign.fr Institut Geographique National 94165 SAINT-MANDE CEDEX PHONE : + 33 1 43 98 81 48 FRANCE FAX : + 33 1 43 98 84 50 ====================================================================== Please do not reply directly to this message, but send comments and suggestions to IDS.central.bureau@cls.fr
