****************************************************************************** dorismail 03-Sep-2007 08:08:57 Message No 0509 ****************************************************************************** Author: Pascal Willis Subject: adoption of ITRF2005 in the IGN/JPL DORIS products Dear colleagues, the IGN/JPL Analysis Center will soon use ITRF2005 (instead of the current ITRF2000) for all its DORIS products basically for products affected by this change, the old solutions in ITRF2000 will remain at the IDS data centers for historical studies. However they will not be updated anymore in the future. New solutions (complete since 1993.0) will be made available at the IDS data centers using a different naming convention in order to avoid any confusion. Basically the SINEX weekly free-network solution remain unchanged, while the ITRF solution (after projection and 7-parameter transformation) is being recomputed since the very beginning of the DORIS data You will find below a complete description of these changes If you have any concern or question, please send me an email (pascal.willis@ign.fr) Otherwise, I will proceed with the modifications and a short DORISMail will be issued after both IDS data centers (CDDIS and IGN) are properly updated Best regards Pascal PS: as usual, for all these new solutions a new description file will also be available at both IDS data centers, as well as all the README files describing these changes ----------------- ANNEX: new naming conventions using the following notation YY = year DDD = first day of the week (from 001 to 366) AAAA = station acronym 1) weekly DORIS station coordinate time series 1.1) free-network weekly SINEX solution: ignwd05 pub/doris/products/sinex_series/ignwd/ignYYDDDwd05.snx.Z this is unchanged as no modification was done in terms of models, corrections or processing strategy NB: this is the basic solution used for IERS combination 1.2) ITRF weekly solution: ignwd06 replacing ignwd04 previous ITRF2000 solution (ignwd04) will be stopped pub/doris/products/sinex_series/ignwd/ignYYDDDwd04.snx.Z new ITRF2005 solution will be added (ignwd06) pub/doris/products/sinex_series/ignwd/ignYYDDDwd06.snx.Z 2) cumulative SINEX solution: ign07d02 replacing ign04d02 previous solution (position/velocity using DORIS data from 1993-1-1 to 2004-09-22 + local ties between stations within the same sites + projected + transformed in ITRF2000) was ign04d02 pub/doris/products/sinex_global/ign/ign04d02.snx.Z a new solution will be added ign07d02, using the most recent geodetic local ties delivered by Herve Fagard last week pub/doris/products/sinex_global/ign/ign07d02.snx.Z the DORIS time series is the same but: data are used from 1993-1-1 to 2007-08-04 the more recent geodetic local ties are used transformed into ITRF2005 3) EOPs : ign07wd01 replacing ign03wd01 older solution (ITRF2000) pub/doris/products/eop/ign03wd01.eop.Z will be replaced by new solution (in ITRF2005) pub/doris/products/eop/ign07wd01.eop.Z 4) geocenter : ign07wd01 replacing ign03wd01 older solution (ITRF2000) pub/doris/products/geoc/ign03wd01.geoc.Z will be replaced by new solution (in ITRF2005) pub/doris/products/geoc/ign07wd01.geoc.Z 5) STCD files : older files (ITRF2000) for data and picture files were pub/doris/products/stcd/ign03wd01/ign03wd01.stcd.AAAA.Z pub/doris/products/stcd/ign03wd01/ign03wd01.stcd.AAAA.gif they will remain unchanged at the IDS data centers new files (ITRF2005) will be pub/doris/products/stcd/ign07wd01/ign07wd01.stcd.AAAA.Z pub/doris/products/stcd/ign07wd01/ign07wd01.stcd.AAAA.gif We recommend to use these new ITRF2005 solutions on the IDS Web site http://ids.cls.fr/html/doris/ids-station-series.php3 -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pascal Willis Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris Ph : +33-(0)1-44-27-24-84 Etudes Spatiales et Planetologie FAX: +33-(0)1-44-27-73-40 4, place Jussieu, Case 89 Em : willis@ipgp.jussieu.fr Paris 75252 Cedex 5, France http://www.ipgp.jussieu.fr/~willis/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please do not reply directly to this message, but send comments and suggestions to IDS.central.bureau@cls.fr
