Fagard" Subject: Antenna change and raising at Kerguelen Dear Colleagues, The DORIS station at Kerguelen ((TAAF = French Antarctic and Austral Territories) has been down since December 2006, apparently because of a failure of the antenna. A new Starec antenna has just been installed on a new, higher support on the same concrete pillar, allowing to connect the cables to the antenna without using any N-type bent adapters. The diameter of the pillar precluded the use of the same heightening device installed at Arequipa, Betio and Crozet, since the minimum radius of curvature for the cables would not be respected. Thus, we had to design a new support: a stainless steel tripod topped by a triangular plate, derived from the support installed by Geoscience Australia at Yaragadee. The old antenna (KESB) was removed on April 10, and transmissions resumed on April 11 from the new location. The acronym in the data files for the new antenna reference point is KETB. Its DOMES number is 91201S005. Its approximate coordinates (ITRF2000, 1997.0) are: X = 1406334.638 m Y = 3918142.533 m Z = -4816185.296 m (sigma: 3 mm) I remind you the ITRF2000 velocities for this site: VX = -0.0053 m/y VY = 0.0028 m/y VZ = -0.0058 m/y Best regards, Herve Fagard -- ====================================================================== Herve FAGARD e-mail : herve.fagard@ign.fr Institut Geographique National 94165 SAINT-MANDE CEDEX PHONE : + 33 1 43 98 81 48 FRANCE FAX : + 33 1 43 98 84 50 ====================================================================== Cliquez sur l'url suivante https://www.mailcontrol.com/sr/Mb8N5CYmPZOf86uli1zdmKmYdR3QU6PhMo6BL3x5Bd7vHFHHWZ!bx2fs1QMXnUjeoSY8daSdygaiin4DdAFP+RWNgc6oqJY2h1c4z+YwVwkrM!GABcCfPEygR07aPLa4UE9I7h4VFH4CwNY+GYPG8DU+fRkGDrkX2+qtRS6L4HkWOtgH1JJMizVP5dWMa93GPiITPk3SS4uBg28bLzWMCzDI0LxGmBaT si ce message est indésirable (pourriel).
