Fagard" Subject: DORIS station upgrade at Dionysos (Greece) Dear Colleagues, The DORIS station "Dionysos", initially installed in February 1989, has just been renovated. A third generation beacon was installed, and the Alcatel antenna (DIOA) was replaced with a Starec one. The antenna is now supported by a 1 metre high, 30 cm sided very rigid metal tower, set on top of a 33 cm thick, 4 metre high load bearing concrete wall standing about 1 m higher than the terrace roof of the building. This new location is about 4 m away from the former one. The DOMES number for the new antenna reference point is 12602S012, and its acronym is DIOB. Transmissions from the former antenna (DIOA) had stopped on December 14, 2005, following a major power issue affecting the whole host agency facility. Once the power issue was solved, the beacon was switched back on for a few days (May 9 to 16) but as it was no longer programmed on the on-board instruments, data is incomplete and will be flagged, and should not be used by the analysis centres. Transmission resumed from the new antenna (DIOB) on May 17, 2006. The following ITRF2000 @ 1997.0 coordinates for the new antenna reference point were derived from the geodetic connection to the old antenna: X= 4595212.457 m Y= 2039473.626 m Z= 3912617.979 m SigX = 0.008 m SigY = 0.009 m SigZ = 0.007 m The ITRF2000 velocities for this site are: VX = 0.0059 m/y VY = 0.0065 m/y VZ = -0.0085 m/y SigVX = 0.0016 m/y SigVY = 0.0015 m/y SigVZ = 0.0016 m/y Best regards, Herve Fagard -- ====================================================================== Herve FAGARD e-mail : herve.fagard@ign.fr Institut Geographique National 94165 SAINT-MANDE CEDEX PHONE : + 33 1 43 98 81 48 FRANCE FAX : + 33 1 43 98 84 50 ====================================================================== Please do not reply directly to this message, but send comments and suggestions to IDS.central.bureau@cls.fr
