Subject: [DORISMail] No 0347 : DORIS IGN/JPL weekly solutions available earlier? (if necessary) Dear colleagues, we currently distribute our DORIS IGN/JPL weekly solutions in sinex format only when all DORIS data are effectively available at the CDDIS Data Center. In fact the DORIS data are not available for all satellites with the same delays. For example, we could be able today to generate a preliminary solution for week 1285 with all satellites except ENVISAT. In this case, this would shorten the total delay by 3 weeks. Tests conducted at JPL show that this incomplete solution (all satellite but ENVISAT) would be only slightly degraded. Of course, we would resubmit the complete DORIS solution (same name) when the remaining DORIS data would be available. Would somebody be interested in receiving more rapid DORIS solutions (in this case, even if the ENVISAT data are not available yet)? Do you think that this could generate some trouble for the combination centers (as you would always have to check that you really have the latest solution available)? If I don't receive any answer I will consider that there is no interest for such a product. Thanks in advance for your opinion Pascal NB: the names of the satellites used in the DORIS solutions are available in the weekly DORIS reports. These reports would also be updated with the updated sinex solution as presently done if a resubmission needs to be done. -- Pascal Willis Jet Propulsion Laboratory, MS 238-646 Ph : 1-818-393-4748 4800 Oak Grove Drive FAX: 1-818-393-4965 Pasadena CA 91109 Em : Pascal.R.Willis@jpl.nasa.gov
