Fagard" Subject: Mount Stromlo station (Australia) has risen from its ashes Dear Colleagues, Less than one year after the terrible fires that completely destroyed the Mount Stromlo Observatory on Jan 18, 2003, Geosciences Australia has completed its reconstruction. The new DORIS equipment consists of a 3rd generation beacon and a Starec antenna. The antenna is installed on a 5.5 m high, 40 cm diameter steel pole, anchored to the building's slab floor and protruding about 1.5 m above the roof. Transmissions started on January 7, 2004. The acronym for the antenna reference point is MSPB. The DOMES number for the new antenna reference point is 50119S004. The following (ITRF2000 @ 1998.0) coordinates and velocities were just provided by Geosciences Australia: X = -4467071.034 m Y = 2683028.289 m Z = -3667004.462 m (sigma: 1 cm) VX = -0.0401 m/y VY = 0.0032 m/y VZ = 0.0423 m/y Best regards, Herve Fagard -- ====================================================================== Herve FAGARD e-mail : herve.fagard@ign.fr Institut Geographique National 94165 SAINT-MANDE CEDEX PHONE : + 33 1 43 98 81 48 FRANCE FAX : + 33 1 43 98 84 50 ====================================================================== Please do not reply directly to this message, but send comments and suggestions to IDS.central.bureau@cls.fr
