Fagard" Subject: New station at Crozet Island (French Southern Indian Ocean Dear Colleagues, A new DORIS station has been installed at Crozet Island, part of the French Southern Indian Ocean territories ("TAAF = Terres Australes et Antarctiques Françaises" in French). The DORIS equipment consists of a third generation beacon and a Starec antenna. The antenna is supported by a 2 meter high, 40 cm diameter concrete pillar, deeply anchored into the ground. The name of the station is "Crozet" and its acronym in the data files is CROB. Transmissions started on December 21, 2003. The DOMES number for the antenna reference point is 91301S001. The following ITRF2000 @ 1997.0 coordinates of the new DORIS point "CROB" were obtained from a computation with the Bernese software using three IGS stations (HRAO, SYOG and KERG) : X= 2719992.09 m Y= 3463401.87 m Z= -4598608.19 m (sigma: 3 cm) No ITRF nor GPS-derived velocities are available yet for this site.
