****************************************************************************** DORISMail 20-Jan-2004 14:40:42 Message No 0290 ****************************************************************************** Author: Tavernier Gilles Subject: IDS Plenary Meeting - May 3-4, 2004 INTERNATIONAL DORIS SERVICE (IDS) PLENARY MEETING The DORIS Pilot Experiment was successfully transformed into an IAG scientific service that will interact with major organisations such as the International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service (IERS) and the International Global Geodetic Observing System (IGGOS). The IDS operation is based on the participation of a number of institutes and individuals that are responsible for the quality of its contributions to Geodesy and Earth sciences. The proposed IDS Plenary Meeting would assemble representatives from all IDS components to share information about results and developments in all aspects of DORIS. The meeting would be a platform for discussion and coordination of future activities. It would provide a forum for interaction with other members of related space geodesy and Earth science communities. The results of the IDS-GRACE Analysis Campaign would get ample space for discussion. The discussion themes would be the following: - DORIS possible input in Earth sciences - Space and ground segments, present and future - Operation: data distribution, analysis - Analysis strategies and software - Contributions to IERS and IGGOS - Results of the IDS-GRACE Analysis Campaign The meeting would take place in central Paris, tentatively in "Salle de l'Espace" at the CNES headquarters on 3-4 May 2004, immediately following the EGU General assembly in Nice.
