Dear colleagues, On November 2001, the IDS Central Bureau decided to initiate comparisons of station network coordinates data sets. A proposal has been sent to the IDS Analysis Centers (ftp://ftp.cls.fr/pub/ids/center/analysis/stations-coord-CFP.rtf). Several groups have already answered and among them four are ready to deliver their solutions. Others are integrating the DORIS Doppler function on their software (ftp://ftp.cls.fr/pub/ids/center/analysis/stations-coord-contributors.rtf). An interesting question has emerged : is there a software that could be used (freely or not) to process the data? To help analysis contributors, an ftp server has been built on the ids web site (http://ids.cls.fr/html/report/ftp.html). Pay attention on the fact that the access failed while using Internet Explorer 5.0 on MAC. The ftp server goal is to give answers to questions such as : what are the DORIS available data, on which satellites (see the catalog on ftp://ftp.cls.fr/pub/ids/data/ )? what is the present DORIS data format (ftp://ftp.cls.fr/pub/ids/data/ ) and how to process the Doris Doppler (Jean-Paul Berthias is just finishing a primer)? what are the system events in case of data processing problem (see ftp://ftp.cls.fr/pub/ids/general/system/system-events.txt or http://ids.cls.fr/cgis/events.cgi)? (a similar history table is under construction for the station network) -^Å Practically, the sinex solutions will be deposited on the data centers but the question of a naming convention is still opened. For the time being, I propose to send them at ftp:/ftp.cls.fr/depot/valette. Please be kind to let me know by e-mail each time you put your data. Note that you can't see the repertory contains but I'll confirm you the good reception of the files. In advance, many thanks for your present and future contributions to this analysis. There are essential for the next important IDS rendez-vous, the workshop on 13th of June 2002 in Biarritz, France (http://www.jason.oceanobs.com/html/portail/general/welcome_uk.php3). Please, feel free to make any comments and to express your need relative to this subject. Since a few weeks, the IDS analysis coordination is the work of Martine Feissel (feissel@ensg.ign.fr). This work is done in collaboration with her. Any other initiative for IDS products comparisons (even for stations coordinates) is welcome and should be submitted to her.
