Title: Antenna change and moving at Arequipa (Peru)

Dear Colleagues,
The DORIS Alcatel antenna at Arequipa, installed 12 years ago, has been replaced with a Starec antenna, installed on a concrete pillar. This pillar is 40 cm in
diameter, 1.5 m high above the ground, and 2 m deep into the ground, and surmounts a 2 m sided, 0.5 m thick concrete pad whose reinforcing rods extend
even deeper into the ground.

The acronym for the new reference point is AREB.

Transmissions from the former antenna position stopped on November 20, and resumed from the new one on November 21.

The DOMES number for the new antenna reference point is 42202S006.

Its coordinates (ITRF2000, 1997.0) are:

X =   1942803.81 m      Y =  -5804071.36 m      Z =  -1796921.88 m
(sigma: 1 cm)

The ITRF2000 velocities for this site are:

VX = 0.0118 m/y         VY = -0.0010 m/y        VZ = 0.0137 m/y
