Fagard Title: Antenna stability improvement at Ponta Delgada (Azores Dear Colleagues, The stability of the DORIS antenna at Ponta Delgada has been improved, by replacing the current guyed 2 m tower whith a very rigid, 30 cm sided, triangular metal tower. The monument is unchanged: it is a brass mark on a concrete beam on the roof of a 3 storied building. The Starec antenna has not been changed, but since the antenna height is slightly (6 mm) different, a new acronym has been assigned to the reference point : PDMB. Transmissions from the former antenna position stopped on August 21, and resumed from the new one on August 22. The DOMES number for the new antenna reference point is 31906S002. Its coordinates (ITRF2000, 1997.0) are the same (within one cm) as those of the former antenna reference point (PDLB) : X = 4551593.80 m Y = -2186898.88 m Z = 3883409.43 m (sigma: 1.5 cm) The ITRF2000 velocities for this site are: VX = 0.0006 m/y VY = 0.0165 m/y VZ = 0.0111 m/y An updated picture and site log are available at: http://www.ign.fr/fr/PI/activites/geodesie/DORIS/STATIONS/PDLB.html Best regards, Herve Fagard
