Precedence: list ****************************************************************************** DORISMail 13-Apr-2000 16:10:00 Message No 0094 ****************************************************************************** Author: Carey Noll Subject: Erratum in Reporting of SPOT Satellite Characteristics Colleagues, In DORISMail 0092, Jean-Paul Berthias reported on characteristics of the SPOT satellites. There was an error in the angles in this report. The information should be: "For SPOT 2 and SPOT 3 the normal to the solar array is obtained by rotating the +Z axis by 22.5 degrees around the Y axis in the direction of the +X axis. This angle is 5 degrees in the case of SPOT 4." Similarly the normal vectors should be exchanged (the large angle is for SPOT 2-3, the small one for SPOT 4) SPOT-2 and SPOT-3 [ sin(22.5) sin(omega t)*cos(22.5) cos(omega t)*cos(22.5) ] SPOT-4 [ sin(5) sin(omega t)*cos(5) cos(omega t)*cos(5) ] The files ftp://cddisa.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/doris/general/spot_char.txt and http://cddisa.gsfc.nasa.gov/spotdoris_char.html have been updated to reflect this correction. Any questions should be directed to Jean-Paul at jean-paul.berthias@cnes.fr. Regards, Carey.
