Here are a few information that you migth like to consider in this way concerning DORIS. 1)COSPAR meeting (Warsaw, July 17-19, 2000) ------------------------------------------- the deadline for abstract has been extended to Jan 30 papers on the following subjects are very welcome: - mission desrciption - satellite systems technology evolution - POD and its scientific applications (co-chair P. Willis) more information can be found at the following Web site: http://www.copernicus.org/COSPAR/COSPAR.html 2)EGS (Nice April, 24-29, 2000) ------------------------------- there are several sessions of interest including one on DORIS and geophysical applications (chairs: J. Ries, JF. Cretaux) deadline for abstract is passed, but additionnal papers are more than welcome more information at: http://www.copernicus.org/EGS/egsga/nice00/overview.htm 3)DORIS Day (Toulouse, May 2-3, 2000) ------------------------------------- it is still time to submit abstracts and to register I know that everybody is quite busy but try to do so as early as possible in order to facilitate the organization. Please use the Web site developped by Carey Noll: http://cddisa.gsfc.nasa.gov/DorisDays_register.html 4)ITRF2000 ---------- as most of you know, ITRF2000 should be a change in the ITRF serie. It is then extremely important that all DORIS groups submit solutions (even incomplete). Presently, very few have answered. you may send first a email of intention to itrf@ensg.ign.fr explaining the computation that you plan to do and then submit the solution (in time), using the specifications available on Web at: http://lareg.ensg.ign.fr/ITRF/ITRF2000 5)ITRF time serie ------------------ IERS has starting a pilot experiment of stations coordinates/polar motion time series. Presently only one group has answer to the call for participation. P. Sillard, who is coordinating this activity is looking for weekly solutions including weekly stations poisitons and daily polar motion (including full covariance information in a SINEX format). Anyhow he is more than willing to welcome other type of solutions (daily, ...) and also maybe other formats. You may contact hime directly at sillard@ensg.ign.fr or look at the Web site (including specifications and results ) at: http://lareg.ensg.ign.fr/~sillard/ITRSTS/ 6) DORIS local tie ------------------ Last (but not least), there is the usual problem of local tie. In the case of DORIS, people having some information on the following topics are more than welcome to contact the IGN/SIM (Herve Fagard: herve.fagard@ensg.ign.fr, including a copy to Zuheir Altamimi: altamimi@ensg.ign.fr)) -if you are aware of the existence of a local tie -if you know a group in charge of regularly doing local tie -if you know a group considering to make local tie to a DORIS beacon (or close-by). Let us try to distribute the information as much as we can! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Pascal Pascal Willis
