ENVISAT is and advanced Earth observing satellite designed to provide measurements of the atmosphere, ocean, land and ice cover over a five- year period. This ESA (European Space Agency) mission is the successor of the ERS-1 and ERS-2 missions and will provide direct continuity of observation over a ten-year period. The launch is presently planned for May 2000. More information about the ENVISAT mission is available at the following Web site: http://envisat.estec.esa.nl Concerning DORIS, the following proposal has just been accepted: Geodetic and Geophysical applications of the DORIS/ENVISAT data within the International Earth Rotation Service (P. Willis et al) This means in particular that the DORIS/ENVISAT data will be broadly availaible to the DORIS/IERS community, through NASA/CDDIS or IGN.
