****************************************************************************** DORIS Electronic Mail Wed May 27 15:23:29 WETDST 1998 Message Number 0043 ****************************************************************************** Author: Munich Organizing Commitee Subject: Munich meeting (5-9 October 1998) Second Circular and Call for Posters for the International Symposium of IAG - Section II, Munich 5-9 October 1998, "TOWARDS AN INTEGRATED GLOBAL GEODETIC OBSERVING SYSTEM (IGGOS)" is now available on-line at the address: http://dgfi.badw-muenchen.de/~iggos The Symposium will focus on the future use of advanced space geodetic techniques leading towards an integrated observing system. This includes terrestrial observatories with various co-located observation techniques, orbiting observatories (missions) performing various types of observations, as well as combined techniques and analyses. Four general themes will be addressed: A. Reference System and Datum Integration o Problems of the definition and realization of a uniform reference system from heterogeneous observation techniques and models o Integration and unification of datums B. Strengths and Weaknesses of Space Techniques o Analysis of advantages and shortcomings of different space techniques o Methods of combination to derive optimal benefit from individual techniques in an integrated system C. Upcoming Gravity Field Satellite Missions o Technical concepts and data analyses o Implications for Geodesy, Geodynamics, and Oceanography D. Implication for Earth Sciences o Application of an integrated observing system in Earth Sciences o Models and estimable parameters More information on call for posters, scientific board, organisation, schedule, excursion, registration, IAG travel award, abstracts, proceedings, hotel reservation, location, and Munich in October are available on-line at http://dgfi.badw-muenchen.de/~iggos Alternatively you may get the pdf-version "2ndcircular.pdf" of the second circular from our anonymous ftp server ftp.dgfi.badw-muenchen.de at directory /pub/iggos (pdf-files can be viewed from any platform by the freely available Adobe Acrobat Reader, see for example http://www.adobe.com ) Please note, there is a deadline of June 30 for both, the submission of abstracts and an early registration with a reduced fee (DM 300). If you are by no way able to access any of the on-line versions of the, second circular, please send an email to the IGGOS-Organizing Committee. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Organizing Commitee of the IAG'98, Section II Symposium, Munich (IGGOS) ---------------- . . -- --------------\ /------------------------- IGGOS-OC ( ) ( ) ***_ ^ -o- Tel. +49 89 23031-107 DGFI, Abt. 1 | | | | *|* o|_ / \/\ / \ Fax: +49 89 23031-240 Marstallplatz 8 |o| |o| |o |_) / \/\ email: 80539 Muenchen | |/\| | |___| / \ iggos@dgfi.badw-muenchen.de ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Mailed From: Pascal Willis ]
