****************************************************************************** DORIS Electronic Mail Wed Feb 4 16:26:04 WET 1998 Message Number 0030 ****************************************************************************** Author: Herve Fagard (IGN) Subject: Antenna change in Ottawa Dear Colleagues, The antenna at Ottawa has been replaced on January 28. The new one is a Starec antenna (type B) which has been installed on the same support as the former antenna (Alcatel, type A). The beacon has NOT been changed and transmissions resumed at 20.47 TAI on January 28. The acronym in the data files for this new antenna is : OTTB. Because of the storm that raged in this part of Canada at the beggining of the year, the tower supporting the former antenna (OTTA) became very loose, therefore the antenna's reference point should be regarded as very unstable from January 4 to January 28. Further information (vertical shift between both antennas and DOMES number) will be given in a future DORIS mail.
